The Benjamin Hawkins Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 to provide education founded upon Christian principles and values to underprivileged or “at-risk” children. In the past, the Fund has provided scholarships for these kids to attend Christian summer camps, where they received spiritual guidance and enjoyed outdoor activities.

Currently, the Fund provides scholarships to four children at Campus Clubs, a Christian based after school educational program that seeks to minister to children in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood of Macon, where very few children have hope. The mission of the Fund is to help these children overcome their circumstances and become functional Christian adult citizens.

Benjamin was a lover of life with a keen intellect and sense of humor. He loved children and possessed a rare combination of maturity, integrity and childlike enthusiasm. He loved his friends and was known by them for his Christian character and desire to help others. We hope to honor his memory by helping “at-risk” children succeed in life by providing them with education and spiritual guidance.
