Hazel Elizabeth Rogers Fund
Hazel Elizabeth Rogers was born in Macon to Hazel Hamilton Rogers, accomplished musician, and Dr. Thomas Edward Rogers, distinguished physician and devoted father. She attended Macon schools and continued her education at Mercer University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Master of Arts in Guidance Counseling from the University of Georgia. A teacher, Miss Rogers was committed to delivering quality education in schools in Macon, Brunswick, and St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. Hazel Rogers devoted her life to the people she loved and the organizations she treasured. She was a lifelong member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Hazel was an active member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The membership of the Macon History Club delighted in her presence at meetings.
