The late Dr. D. T. Walton, Jr. faithfully supported and served many local organizations.  He funded educational scholarships, food and shelter for people in need, and after-school programs for children. Twice honored for his community service efforts – by the city of Macon and the Meals on Wheels program – Dr. Walton also established a donor advised fund with the Community Foundation, ensuring that his family will continue his legacy of giving from generation to generation.

“Our four daughters and I will discuss how the funds should be dispersed, and in years to come the grandchildren will guide the Fund,” wife Joan Walton said.  Through the Community Foundation, the family is assured the Fund’s assets will be invested wisely.
