Right Path Scholars Fund

Purpose

The purpose of the Right Path Scholars Fund is to help students from Houston, Jones, Peach and Bibb Counties pursue higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be current residents of Houston, Jones, Peach or Bibb County in Georgia
  • Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or current college students. Applicants may have attended a public, private, or charter high school or have been home-schooled.
  • Enrolled at, or accepted to, an accredited public or private college, university or technical school.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree.
  • A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.

Selection Criteria

Recipients will be selected based on the following:

  • Preference will be given to applicants from Houston County, Georgia.
  • Indication that the applicant’s chosen major will ensure a successful career after college
  • Academic Merit
  • Demonstrated Financial Need
  • Involvement in civic and extra-curricular activities

Additional Short Answer Questions and Attachments 

On the last page of the application, applicants will select the Right Path Scholars Fund and complete the following additional information:

  • A resume listing your school and community activities, athletics, awards, offices held and other relevant experiences.
  • A copy of your most recent unofficial high school or college transcript.
  • A copy of the first page of your FAFSA Student Aid Report that indicates the value of your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

Awards

Amount of award:                           At least $1,000

Number of awards:                         Varies, at least one

Renewable for Prior Recipients:  This scholarship is not renewable, however prior recipients may re-apply each year by completing the full application.

Complete the online renewal application by March 15th of each year.

  • Submit an unofficial transcript scholar@cfcga.org at the end of each fall and spring semester for which he/she receives the scholarship.
  • Maintain the eligibility criteria as defined in the scholarship’s guidelines.

If a prior recipient does not maintain the eligibility criteria or faces unique circumstances that require him/her to take time off or take a reduced course load for a semester, the student should contact the Community Foundation to determine if he/she is eligible for continued funding.
