Kathryn H. Dennis
President
Kathryn Dennis serves as President of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. She joined CFCG in June 2002 and works closely with the Foundation’s Board, staff, and donors to encourage philanthropy and make communities stronger in our region.
Kathryn is a native Georgian and a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in History. She is also a Leadership Georgia and a Leadership Macon graduate. She was a 2003 Southeastern Council of Foundations Hull Fellow. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Peyton Anderson Foundation, Community Health Services. Inc., and the Georgia United Methodist Foundation. She is also a member of Atrium Health Navicent’s Audit Committee, Career Women’s Network, and Vineville United Methodist Church. She is the convener of the Macon Council of Foundations. She is a past president of the Rotary Club of Macon, the Junior League of Macon, and the Macon Estate Planning Council, and a past chair of the Stratford Academy Board of Trustees and OneMacon. She has served on the boards of Leadership Georgia, the Southeastern Council of Foundations, the Georgia Grantmakers Alliance, United Way of Central Georgia, the Macon Economic Development Commission, the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, the Center for Racial Understanding, and the Mentors Project of Bibb County. Kathryn worked for SunTrust Bank, Middle Georgia for 15 years and when she left for the Community Foundation was a Senior Vice President and the leader of the Wealth Management Division. She and her husband, Brown, have three adult children and three grandchildren.
Hazle Hamilton
Executive Vice President
Hazle Hamilton manages the Foundation’s finance and administrative functions and systems. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, and the Georgia Society of CPA’s. She is a member of the Fiscal and Administrative Officers Group for Community Foundations and former member of the Community Foundations National Standards Board including a two-year term as President. She was a 2006 Southeastern Council of Foundations Hull Fellow. She is a member of the Central Georgia Estate Planning Council and the Career Women’s Network of Macon having served terms as President of each. She was honored by CWN in 2018 as a Woman of Achievement. She serves on the Middle Georgia Regional Library Board and is a strong supporter of our public library system. She is a graduate of Leadership Macon. Hazle holds a degree in accounting from Mercer University and is a graduate of the National Planned Giving Institute of the College of William & Mary.
Julia Wood
Vice President of Development & Donor Services
Julia Wood is responsible for assisting potential donors and their professional advisors in establishing funds at the Foundation. She joined the CFCG team in 2008. Julia graduated from Mercer University with a Master’s of Business Administration and the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism. In 2010, Julia received a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from The American College and she is a 21/64 certified advisor for family philanthropy. She is a member of the Central Georgia Estate Planning Council, the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon, a past president of the Junior League of Macon, a 2011 5 Under 40 Young Leader, a founder of the I Love Macon campaign, a 2010 Hull Fellow of the Southeastern Council of Foundations, a 2007 graduate of Leadership Macon, and a 2020-2021 graduate of Leadership Georgia. Julia is married to Lynn, and they have one daughter.
Monique Pitts-Taylor
Scholarship Director
Monique Pitts-Taylor manages the Foundation’s scholarship programs. She is the primary contact for students applying for scholarships, high school counselors, and scholarship selection committee members. Monique graduated from Southwest High School, and she received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor’s of Arts Dual Degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising from Clark Atlanta University. She loves to travel, and she is married to Arnez.
Darius D. Maynard, MPA
Program Officer
Darius manages the Foundation’s competitive grantmaking programs and other initiatives. In this position, he works closely with local nonprofits in accomplishing their missions, strengthening their internal structure, and developing partnerships in the community. Darius is a highly skilled and passionate advocate for positive social change. With a deep understanding of the philanthropic field and a zeal for making a difference, he plays a key role in advancing the mission of the foundation and transforming communities.
Darius is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and combines a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Masters Degree in Public Administration with years of experience in the philanthropic sector. He is well-versed in grant management, community engagement and collaboration, and strategic philanthropy, allowing him to drive meaningful and sustainable change. He is always open to collaborations and conversations to explore opportunities for meaningful impact.
Beyond his role at the foundation, Darius is deeply committed to fostering positive social change. He is actively involved in the community both civically and philanthropically. He was elected by his fellow colleagues to lead the Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections as chair. He currently serves on the board for Communities in Schools and the Macon Arts Alliance. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated where he serves as the Immediate Past President of the Epsilon Beta Lambda Chapter. Darius has a passion for education and enjoys helping others develop and achieve. He counts his family and friends as his greatest blessings and delights in the time that he spends with them.
Kathryn Rhodes
Foundation Associate
Kathryn oversees the weekly grant process and is responsible for various bookkeeping functions. Hailing from Waynesboro, Georgia, Kathryn moved to Macon, Georgia in 2019 to attend Mercer University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration, double majoring in Accounting and Business Management. While at Mercer, she became a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, served as an elected Senator of the Student Government Association, and participated in the Center of Economics and Liberty Book Club. In her free time, Kathryn loves spending time with her family and friends, fishing, reading, and exploring new businesses downtown.
Tracey Prince
Administrative Assistant
tprince@cfcga.orgTracey is responsible for assisting the CFCG team in the day-to-day operations. Tracey is a native Macon graduate of Southwest High School and attended Georgia Military College. She soon began a career in Health Insurance, receiving her Life and Health Insurance license in 2001. After a dedicated twenty-three-year career in insurance, Tracey made the easy decision to join CFCG.
As a faith-based Christian, Tracey is passionate about helping others. Tracey and her husband Kris have one son, Parker. In her free time, she loves spending time with her extended family, traveling, cooking, being outdoors, fishing and gardening.
