Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund

Purpose

The Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund was created to support nonprofit organizations who are helping those negatively impacted by the financial and health crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus, and to also support those organizations who have been negatively impacted directly. This Fund was established by the United Way of Central Georgia and the Community Foundation of Central Georgia and many generous donors.

Funding Priorities

Areas of interest include:

  • Innovative programs to distribute food more efficiently to those who need it.
  • Innovative programs to get people back to work.
  • Innovative programs to support people who are having trouble paying their rent and/or utility bills.
  • Innovative and new ways to deliver the organization’s programming.
  • Operating funds to help organizations as they develop sustainable budgets and strategies reflective of the economic downturn.

Geographic Restrictions

Grant applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or churches located in and serving at least one of these 24 Georgia Counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Bleckley, Butts, Coffee, Crawford, Dodge, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Laurens, Macon, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Spalding, Taylor, Twiggs, Upson, Washington, Wilkinson

Average Grant Amount

It is anticipated that the average grant size will be $7,500.00 from this grant cycle of the Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.  The maximum grant awarded will be $15,000.00.

Award Schedule

After the application deadline, the Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Steering Committee will review the applications and make recommendations for funding. Please allow up to four weeks for award notifications.

How to apply

You will need a User ID and Password to access the application. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER Please note that it can take at least one business day to process a new registration for the Web Portal.  Do not wait until May 15th to register. Once your registration is processed, complete the Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund application.

Reporting Requirements

All recipients of a grant from the Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund will be asked to submit a short report on how the funds were used and a picture, if possible.

Here are a few important notes on how to talk about your COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund grant.

Terminology:  In all materials, describe your funding as a grant from the Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.

News Releases:  Promote your project with a news release to the local media. If you’re inviting the media out to cover your project or event, please invite us too by sending the information to ncleveland@cfcga.org and lstauter@unitedwaycg.com. We would also like to share your news releases with our contacts, please include ncleveland@cfcga.org and lstauter@unitedwaycg.com as a release contact.

Social Media:  Spread the word about your project through social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. You can find the Community Foundation of Central Georgia and United Way on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, under the name @CFCGA and @UnitedWayCG , and on Instagram under @cfcentralga and @unitedwaycg”. We encourage you to tag us in your posts.
