The Merrie Christmas Project

Nancy and Mike Kaplan created The Merrie Christmas Project in loving memory of their daughter Merrie Kaplan. Merrie was born with a rare genetic condition, Williams syndrome, yet she lived life to the fullest. She was a huge fan of her beloved University of Georgia Bulldogs, collected friendships of all ages, doted on animals, and from a young age loved Santa Claus and everything the Christmas season is about. Fitting to her name, she was known locally as an outgoing woman who wore a big smile, and whenever entering a room, she always brought happiness and joy. Now, in Merrie’s memory, her joy will continue throughout the area every holiday season. The Merrie Christmas Project helps families and children experience a Christmas who otherwise would not. The program provides food, holiday decorations, and gifts to families in need.
