The Junior League of Macon was accepted into membership by The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. in 1937. The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League of Macon has focused its efforts on improving early childhood literacy and school readiness in the Middle Georgia Community through education, fundraising, advocacy, and hands-on projects. League members participate in community placements, volunteering their time and energy to help local agencies with their day-to-day operations and special events. www.jlmacon.org
